Part 1: 50%
Choose a Multinational Enterprise (MNE) that is headquartered in the UK and listed on the FTSE 100 Index on the London Stock Exchange .You are required to;
a. Critically discuss how recent developments within the international political, legal, economic and financial environment have impacted on your chosen company’s recent performance and development. How are these developments likely to impact on the company in the near future? (40%)
b. Discuss the impact of currency risk for your chosen company and identify strategies used by the company to mitigate currency risk. (10%)
Part 2: 50%

a. With reference to your chosen Multinational Enterprise (MNE) and by using the most recent annual report published (say 2013), analyse the financial performance (in terms of profitability, liquidity and efficiency) of the company in the current year (2013) and compare this to the preceding year’s financial information (prior year 2012 comparative figures will be available in the 2013 annual report). (30 marks)
b. Discuss using the most recent annual report how the company’s earnings per share and gearing ratios compare to that of a competitor also listed in the FTSE 100 index. (10 marks)
c. Discuss how current developments in national and international tax policies will impact the company. (10 marks)

1. All materials used in the preparation of your report should be clearly referenced Referencing must be in line with Harvard Style which is available on the module area on Blackboard Learn.

Word format and limit: Typescript, Arial font, size 12, double line spacing,
Maximum 3,500 words excluding charts and graphs but including all appendices. Please identify your student number on the front page of the report
